Protecting those who protect our Northern Border
The National Border Patrol Council - Local 2913 is the exclusive representative of approximately 800 Border Patrol Agents and support personnel assigned to Blaine Sector, Spokane Sector, and Havre Sector, which span over 1100 miles of our nation's border with Canada.
This length of border contains multiple types of terrain; from coastal shores to forested mountains to broad open plains. These three sectors give our agents a variety of challenges as they protect our Northern Border.
Although union membership is not mandatory, the NBPC maintains a 90% membership rate among eligible Border Patrol Agents and support personnel, offering a testament to the level of service provided to members.
Some of the services we provide are:
Access to the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) Legal Defense Fund (LDF);
Legal Service Plan, separate from PORAC LDF, to cover major “within course and scope of employment” administrative actions;
Representation for workplace issues;
An extensive Health and Safety program;
Assistance with OWCP related claims;
Expert advice pertaining to EEO;
National lobbying efforts; and
Access to defined group benefits at significant discounts
